We’re dedicating new Siddurim on the first day of Shavuot. In honor of this wonderful occasion, we’re using the counting of the Omer to learn about the siddur.

Why do we need a siddur at all?
We need a siddur because we are supposed to read the blessings, not memorize them. For example, in the Torah, we are supposed to be reading and absorbing all of the information. The lessons are also supposed to help us be holy, and it is more likely for someone to take advice from something the read than listening to it.
