Etz Hayim Book Group
Register HERE for our Book Discussion.
You’ll find materials on this page to help you participate in our 2020-21 Book Group. We are reading “Here All Along,” by Sarah Hurwitz. You can purchase the book online (e.g., Amazon) or borrow a copy from the CEH library (contact Laura Naide at email@example.com).
Our group will meet on Sunday evenings from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM. The link will be emailed to everyone who has registered and will also be included in the CEH Weekly Email. Here is our schedule of readings. We’ll be working with a discussion guide prepared by the author.
Would you like to learn more about the author?
From 2009 to 2017, Sarah Hurwitz worked in the White House, serving as head speechwriter for First Lady Michelle Obama and as a senior speechwriter for President Barack Obama. Prior to working in government, Hurwitz was the chief speechwriter for Hillary Clinton on her 2008 campaign for president and a speechwriter for Senator John Kerry and General Wesley Clark during the 2004 presidential election. Hurwitz is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
This short video clip describes her Jewish journey and why she chronicled it in a book. If you prefer to avoid politics, a short portion of the clip (from 15:20 – 17:20) covers Ms. Hurwitz’s reaction to the Trump Administration’s 2019 Executive Order regarding anti-semitism.
